GOLDEN STATE ROWING CLUB
GSRC was started to fill a gap in the youth sports world, to craft an experience like nothing else for young athletes.
Our sport is rowing - and through rowing, we aim to create a high-performing program that develops youth into national and international level racers, who are prepared to succeed in the sport and beyond.
Our team is a community - one that lifts each other up to achieve more than an individual could imagine.
Excellence - we believe the pursuit of excellence helps youth develop foundational skills to pursue challenges they will face in life.
Community - rowing is the ultimate team sport. We believe our team culture and community is one that nurtures the development of every athlete at GSRC.
Holistic Development - we believe we have the opportunity to develop more than just great rowers; we also aim to equip athletes with skills of goal setting, planning, execution, and leadership. We want athletes to come out of the program not just fast rowers - but prepared for whatever their next step is.
WHY GOLDEN STATE?
WHAT SETS US APART?
Individuality - we believe in every athlete that rows with us. We put together individual plans and pathways to help each athlete achieve the goals they set for themselves.
Keep it fun - we believe it's critical to make the experience fun. We strive to make Golden State a place where athletes look forward to coming every day!
Developing athletes, not just rowers - we believe it is critical in high school to develop a well-rounded athleticism. We do a significant amount of sport-specific training, but also a lot of cross-training - whether on the bike, in the pool, or on the field.
Injury prevention - continuous training over multiple years is key to success. Thus, our training is focused on ensuring longevity in the sport.
Athlete retention - our coaching team has a strong track record for earning the respect and loyalty of athletes. We create a program where kids want to come back year after year, and then continue their success. Our alumni have a strong and broad record of success after their time with us: 100% of recruits from our coaching staff have made their college's top varsity boat in the first two years.
MEET OUR TEAM
We pride ourselves on our coaching staff - both for their track record of results, but also because we seek coaches who make the athlete's development and growth fun!

Coach - Novice Boys
Andrew Jarecki has been involved in rowing since 2016. As novice coach, his role is to teach kids the basics of the sport, and to prepare them for a lifetime in rowing.
He lead his athletes to multiple wins, including gold medal at San Diego Crew Classic in the U16 4x+ event. One of his athletes went on to qualify for Youth Nationals in the men’s U17 1x and placed 11th in the country.
Andrew is excited to continue working with new rowers to help them develop into well-rounded, competitive athletes - who are ready to race, but also ready to become leaders in their community.
